Autism quackery

Liz Ditz, who often writes about Learning Disabilities and, therefore, has developed a good nose for bologna, posts entries once in a while about Autism. She has a keeper in After McCarthy: Autism quackery on the rise. There’s a reference to Leelo’s mother and, for those of you who know about Liz’s site already, here’s a link to take the direct jump to “the adventures of leelo and his potty-mouthed mom.”

Wait, am I a purveyor of quackery and bologna? Or do I just walk and sound like a duck? Please clarify. :)

Squid, for readers new to the plot, is Leelo’s mom. Another Awesome Autism (and Neurotypical) Mom, in other words. And somebody I’m proud to introduce as my friend. And John, I think this is the better autism post from me:

I’m a fan of them both! but I’m a little behind on the blogging due to a double dose of asthma and flu, so I’ll nip along and do some catch up.
    Cheers

Thanks for dropping by, Squid. I’m sorry if my post was ambiguous. I liked Liz’s post about quackery and was glad it led me to your posts about parenting Leelo. I don’t see you peddling miracle cures for Autism, so I fear you just won’t be able to qualify as a quacky bologna dispenser (even at the Monterey Aquarium).

Liz, you’re right. The post about your experiences in the psych classes is a good source. Thanks!
